Map: Koth_Viaduct
The first week of ESEA definitely has some great match ups in store for us. After a surprising map choice of Viaduct it will be very interesting to see the strats that the top tier teams have come up with. This week will definitely set the tone for this season.
Hostile Faction vs Shift
The two returning teams of Hostile Faction and Shift will play each other in their first matches of the season. I can imagine Hostile Faction creating strategies that play around Ricco’s sniping and Boogie’s mad demoman skills. I know that yadion is a pretty decent sniper but I can’t see him being in the same class as Ricco. As long as nothing goes wrong the HF side, they should have this match on lock.

Area 51 vs Detox TF2
One of the most intense matchups out there this week on a map that teams are still trying to figure out. In class matchups, Area 51 definitely has a slight edge going into the match, with their soldier pair of kayp and sting but what many teams are centering their strats around are their demoman so watch out for big nights from both marmell and hp. In the end it will come down to which team can out think the other.

Businessmen vs Lore’s Merry Men
This is a HUGE week for businessmen starting off the season playing two great teams in LMM and Helix. I don’t think the competition will be the same in the Helix match because of their refusal to even look at Viaduct but both Businessmen and LMM come into this match with something to prove. Both of these teams have been hard at work perfecting their strats on viaduct which makes this a very interesting matchup. The winner of the match will be the team with the more dominant demoman. Droog and Kayaws will go at it here and only one team will come out winning.
LMM > Businessmen 4-3
Apocalypse Gaming vs eXpertise
This is AG’s second match of this week with the first one going against Malware which I don’t see being close. The AG roster will get their first test against a newly formed eXpertise now featuring Ekos. eXpertise really is an enigma this season, nobody truly knows whether their offseason switch ups have made them stronger or weaker. Whether Jammar or Tyranny snipes, it should combine with YMR demoman skills to make a very deadly combo.
