TotalGL is going to be extending our registration (aka pushing everything back) UPDATED: till the week following ESEA's registration closing to give teams a bit more time in deciding what leagues they want to compete in as ESEA's situation unfolds. Over the past month or so TotalGamingLeague has had tons of new players and teams sign up on the site leaving me optimistic about an exciting upcoming season but there is a concern I just want to put out there -
I've been going day by day checking the TGL site to see how many teams are loading up and registering on the site as well as for the event and as of 7:00pm today we have plenty of teams on the site but just a few actually ready to go...
We have only 9 teams readied up in the event competition for the upcoming Season. That's not to say there's only going to be a few teams that compete but as of right now we don't really have a bunch signing up for the event itself. Instead I have over 45 teams signed up on the site with varying numbers of readied up players. I just want to make sure everyone understands the process of signing up for the competition as well as clarify a few questions about future plans so that I can have everything as transparent as possible starting with the sign up process...
To sign up on the site just click the Enlist now button on the upper left column. After going through the sign up stage you can go to "my teams" and either create (if you are the leader) or join a team. In order for a team to go from just being registered on the site to actually signed up for the upcoming season and eligible to compete there needs to be 6 players readied up and then one of the management personal on the team needs to go to the 6v6 open TF2 page here, and click the "Sign Up" button in green on the tabs row. If you do not have 6 readied players it will reject your attempt and tell you to get 6.
TotalGamingLeague Season 5 TF2 is running with over $2,200 in prizes (not cash but rather retail value of the items awarded :P) and more in the works. We will not be using an Anti-Cheat client as some of you have questioned - we are looking into future AC's but for now to avoid the headache we are passing over that hurdle. I realize teams are in an interesting position right now deciding on what leagues to hop on board with and it's something each team needs to decide on their own - all I can say is we have 45+ teams on our site since the season was announced and Im hoping for at least 25-30 total teams by the end of registration to be on board. Plenty of teams have said that they intend to sign up but I just wanted to get another shot of encouragement out there to get players readied and teams in the event.
IF the TF2 community supports TotalGL and Season 5 is a success TGL is looking and considering many upgrades and options to our league for future support for TF2. We are working toward a better website with features found on ESEA, cash prize offerings with a clearer distinction in skill brackets, and I'm not new to planning large events like Lan competitions ;P and would be willing if the support is there to not only host finals but gear various side competitions for community involvement.
Best of luck to all the teams still deciding what leagues suits their needs best, and I look forward to an awesome upcoming competitive season as a player and competitor! :D

You'd probably stand to get a ton of extra teams registered if ESEA does fold, as I'm sure many others are sitting around waiting to see what happens with ESEA.
