TGBF Casting Call

Hey all.  First, big thanks to everyone who turned up during the ESEA LAN coverage.  I speak for everyone on the crew when I say that we're really grateful for our audience. We're sorry we weren't able to bring the entire thing in full video, but we did what we could considering our collective situations - getting an entire weekend free is harder for some of us than others. :)

That all said, we are looking to expand both the quantity and quality of our content during the next season.  A few of the ways we're planning to do this are through some new programming formats, some additional improvements to the live viewing experience both in-stream and on the page, and the addition of a second member of the team capable of streaming the top-quality video our audience has come to expect from us.

An additional way that we're planning to expand could involve some of you folks in a more active way.  Over the weekend it was clear that our simulcasts over mumble have become a successful addition to the way that we deliver commentary, and we'd like to leverage our rather large 500-slot mumble (many thanks to EOReality.net) to greater effect.  At the same time, we'd like to begin cultivating more commentary talent, as well as provide a means for a lot more matches to receive the sort of live coverage they deserve.

We're plan to achieve this by opening up a general casting call until the end of the month.  Qualified applicants will receive access to book shows on our website and utilize our mumble server to stage audio broadcasts.  Qualifications will generally be minimal (decent standing within the community, generally articulate, have played the game a bit, etc) and there will be no requirements as far as output.  You'll have the freedom to cover whatever matches you'd like and cast as frequently as you want.  We simply wish to provide a means for interested individuals to get involved with the commentary side of things, and those that do well will certainly be 'called up' to do shows on the main stream with the rest of the regular crew.

If this interests you, please drop me an email at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so we can get the ball rolling.  Cheers-

#12 leogeo2 2010-07-19 14:01 Aww. Why not, schetter? :(

#11 schetter 2010-07-19 12:40 #1: you need only a mic that's above the 'tin can' level and can run the game and mumble at the same time to be effective in this role.

#6: ? If you would be able to make a new gotfrag thread about a cast without it getting instantly fragged then I think you're allright…if not…

#8: don't think you'd make the cut. Seriously.

Getting some general questions here and over email about time; let me reiterate that there will be -no- set expectations as far as volume of casts or time spent…as long as you output something over the course of the season then you'll keep your spot. How much and what matches you'd like to do is entirely up to you.

The response thus far has been great so we might have to close this up earlier than I expected - I don't want this group to be too massive - so if you have any interest please drop me an email sooner rather than later…

+1 #10 eXtine 2010-07-19 12:11 Yaaaooo!!!

If you're interested holler at the man Schetter, we could use some extra voices that know how to talk about the game while delivering an engaging conversation with the audience.

The more people involved the merrier. We aren't limiting our streams to Schetter's availability anymore by utilizing the Mumble casts and bringing in camera operators for more video streams.
