Ladies and gents, this just in from my man in the field, Stinger from Performance Anxiety.
Global Warfighter League has just opened not one but two new TF2 leagues to run alongside each other: standard 6v6, and a Highlander (9v9) sign-ups are now open and free! Stinger's been kind enough to drop the link bombs on me.
One league? That's for babies, says Global Warfighter (which, when condensed down to an abbreviation, becomes GloWarf--ho, ho!). Two leagues, now that's how real maniacs do a league up, GloWarf style.
More details after the jump!
GloWarf isn't content to sit on the ultra-manly double league style and call it a day. They have prizes, too!
6v6 Season 1 Prizes
First Place: 36 In Game Keys, or $90 of Amazon.com Gift Cards
Second Place: 12 In Game Keys, or $30 of Amazon.com Gift Cards
Highlander Season 1 Prizes
First Place: 36 In Game Keys, or $90 of Amazon.com Gift Cards
Second Place: 18 In Game Keys, or $45 of Amazon.com Gift Cards
With all those keys, you could open all your crates! Maybe half your crates? Well, you could open a lot of crates and loot them for their cool stuff and auction it off to benefit orphans. But those Amazon gift cards greatly sweeten the deal.
Full rules for 6s and Highlander are available here and here, and while rule changes can still be made if there's overwhelming clamor on their site. The ban list is also up and looking pretty solid, all things considered. Personally, I'd like to see some more Demo items bounced but at least they banned the Wrangler! Yee-haw!
Registration is open and will close Sunday, September 25th, at 5:30 PM EST. The first week of matches will be scheduled at 6 PM EST.
Update: the map list is set in stone and Here it be, folks.

Pro Viaduct? Well, that's acceptable. But Pro dustbowl? No. Big mistake. Great pub map, terrible for Highlander. And why no Warmfront love for Highlander? Other than that, solid rotation. Head over to their page and get signed up!
