Yaaaaoooooo.
Yea Dat's Right.
eXtelevision.com baby. We ready to go. Go where? Places... Places where we can do more work.
Would you buy an eXtv t-shirt that said: "Do Work?" These are the type of places we could go. Or YYYaaaaoooo Keychains I dunno.
Either way setting up our own website for eXtv is a huge step. What does it all mean though? Does it mean eXtine is going away from Community Fortress or TGBF.tv and trying to setup his own shit?
NNNaaaaaoooooo!!!!
(TL:DR here is link to post with new eXtv on my site, or read more to get the full break down and the 6 parts are linked below.)
The vision is that CommFT, TGBF.tv, and eXtv will all feed each other by each focusing on a different part of the TF2 tri-force. TGBF.tv provides Live shoutcasting whether it is with a camera man or without. Community Fortress is the hub for competitive players when it comes to well thought discussions in the forums and written articles. eXtv is the center of post-produced coverage, and also the site for the community to get involved with the process.
I wrote up a welcome post over there. Articles will be going up over there, but of a different nature than what I post over here.
We do not currently have our crowd sourcing initiatives in place, but want to get spectators involved with our coverage. Doing highlight videos of matches or compiling weekly/monthly Frag videos is hampered by the video editor having to watch all the clips themselves. Similarly, breaking down a match into a highlight reel is easily aided if the editor knows what to shoot ahead of time. Not everyone has the skills, patience, or hardware to be a video editor, but hopefully we can harness the energy of TF2 spectators willing to briefly jot down what they saw, when they saw it, and where the demo file is.
We also want to get the Uniform skin packs rolling in for teams. I posted a tutorial on how to do uniforms, which could probably use some tweaking but will also be enough guidance to give people a huge head start on a fairly easy process. With crowd sourcing we could make uniforms for all the big teams. If you make a set for your team, get in touch with me (e-mail address listed later), we'll post it on the eXtv site for download, and try our best to use it in an episode.
There are forums on the eXtv site, and the goal is to use these forums more for that purpose than for discussing TF2 gameplay issues. Come in and have fun, but I don't want to take away from the great forum discussions here at commFT. There is also a Street Fighter section.
The focal point of that is the coverage I have been doing on the CommunityFortress YouTube channel, my eXtv TF2 series and that will not change in the near future. We are definitely looking to expand our ability to produce content specific to eXtv and get more episodes out there. On top of that, we want to help the other skilled TF2 videomakers out there increase their distribution by tapping into our large and growing subscriber base. Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you are interested, an e-mail will be going out soon to Videomakers I've already touched base with.
eXtv will be expanding into other games in the future with my work on CounterStrike:Source for LANChamp.com being featured on our site. There will also be some comedy bits, as me and my Web Developer/SF+SC Enthusiast/Decent Pub Player Has Yet To Break His Lobby Cherry/Good Friend Bumpasaurus X have some pretty awesome ideas. Music too. oMg.
Anyways, it's all gonna be pretty sweet, and nothing but good things. There is also some very exciting news coming up. But I caNnot Disclose Anything.
Now, new eXtv's will be posted on CommFT so you can all still see it without going to my site. BUT, I got embedded playlists so you can just click a video, and watch the whole hour long episode :D Plus all my archives neatly arranged.
The full post concerning the new eXtv can be found on my site, which includes a probably too brief (trying to get it out the door!) lead up to the match in question: ESEA Season 6 LAN, Lower Bracket elimination match between eMazing Gaming and Blight.OWN. If you haven't seen the TGBF.tv VOD's leading up to it (and the UB Final), the links for those can be found within the article.
Check out all 6 parts. Yes. 6. 6. 6.
