CommFT Quick Action Clips

So, after reading Extine's post about the French daily Quick Action clips I've felt like starting up a similar series for North American TF2. Why? I thought it'll help put the spotlight on more players, to allow a wide range of players to shine in a daily clip showcasing the variety of players in the North American Team Fortress 2 scene, but I can't start this series without clips so read on if you're interested.

TGBF.TV: ESEA-O Double Header Finale

TGBF.TV is proud to announce that Tuesday night starting at 10PM EST we will  be covering the final two matches of the ESEA-Open playoffs, played back to back. Starting off it's eMazing gaming battling Hostile Faction on good old CP_Badlands for the right to face Vires. The second match starts on CP_granary at ~11:30EST with Vires having a map to give. Are you ready for a 3ro-Down?

It's been an excited unpredictable ESEA-Open playoff thus far, with 3rd seed Vicious Gaming dropping two games and power houses Apocalypse Gaming being undone by CP_GravelPit. Control-Alt-Defeat and eXpertise put up a spirited fight in the lower bracket, but were both eliminated by eMazing gaming in the later rounds. eMazing gaming were in the lower bracket after losing 2-0 on Gravel Pit to Vires (Formerly the Gentleman's Club, and surely something before that). Hostile Faction's only lose came from Vires as well, on Badlands in the upper bracket semi-finals with Vires winning 5-3. Somewhat surprisingly, eMg has yet to play on Badlands this tournament but brackets are brackets.

Shout Casting the first match will be eXtine and Flame, while m0lk and a yet to be determined co-host will be casting the second!

While it is of interest to note that Vires will be breaking up after this finale these games are for cold hard cash, and they will surely be looking to seal the deal. Hostile Faction and eMg will also be having significant roster shifts, but that doesn't dilute the glory of this previous season.  With 30+ teams the ESEA-Open was a huge success in terms of number of teams that stayed together, and also the level of talent displayed. We got to see that this game is truly thriving with creative teams that are building the necessary tools to compete at the top, but also aren't afraid to take risks. The future for some of these players is definitely the Invite level league. While teams may be splitting, there has been vigorous action in the "free agent" market and we'll surely see a similar number of teams next season.

Breaking News: Community Contribution Update

Obligatory Official Blog Post

Key Quotes:

"Today's TF2 update includes a bunch of new items and weapons, all of which were made by members of the TF2 community and uploaded to the Contribute! site. The overall quality of submissions we're receiving is fantastic, by the way, so there'll be plenty of new additions to follow. The submitters of these items will find nifty unique versions sitting in their backpacks, so they can show everyone their work."

...

"This update represents the next step in that process. The line between developers and players is getting very blurry, and we think that's a great thing."

TF2Items.com is a little slammed right now it seems, but I'm sure that will be the place to go to see the stats first for all the weapons.

tgbf.tv - eMazing vs eXpertise - 3/16

TGBF.TV is proud to bring you a TF2 cast of the ESEA-Open playoffs.
Tonight at 10:30pm EST, we will be live with eMazing Gaming against eXpertise on cp_granary.

After a tough loss to Vires on gravelpit, eMg is looking to get back on their feet with a win on one of their favorite maps. In the regular season, eMg 5-0ed two playoff caliber teams in Detox and LMM on granary and looked very comfortable. Their leader Enoryt is very confident that they will bounce back and make it back into the finals for a rematch against Vires.

eXpertise started the playoffs with a rough loss against CAD, but they flexed their muscles nicely with 2 straight wins on gravelpit. eX played a very close match against eMg, losing 2-4 on freight, in the regular season. Look for them to put up one heck of a fight.
