KritzKast Interviews Robin Walker

The KritzKast crew scores a major exclusive and gets some great answers outta head honcho Robin Walker. Key questions include when TF2 will make it to Mac OSX, and some discussion about the Engineer Pack. Great interview if you haven't seen it yet.

ESEA-Invite Standings

ESEA-I S6 is getting closer and closer to the end, with teams having 4-5 matches left to play out. Traditional favorites EG are still struggling @ 4-8 and are gonna need to win all their matches to even stand a chance to get that top 4 spot. Maybe they better start crossing their fingers that other teams won't be able to attend the LAN. Right now, coL pretty much has their spot locked (haven't checked the math) while Blight.Fanom, eMg, and Nexus gaming are holding onto the other Top4 spots with 8 wins each. At 5-7, Blight.oPlaid/Mesr will be trying to catch one of those other teams in the last weeks of matches. Should be an exciting finish!

In other news, eXtv's comlpexity uniform set will be uploaded soon, with the other completed sets following soon after. Alongside that will be the uniform skinning tutorial I wrote explaining the process which will be posted on our TF2 Wiki. With the tutorial, my starter files, and co-ordinating on the Wiki, it should be extremely easy to get an extensive set of user created uniforms for all the top teams that can be used in eXtv or other projects. Stay tuned...

Community PolyCount Contest!

There's a new TF2 Blog post, which unforutnately isn't about the Engineer, but nonetheless has some pretty cool news!

Of course with a link to an external site, which is totally getting hammered, it's hard to get details atm of what Valve has planned here. It seems though that they're giving community members a chance to design new polygon models for the existing weapons! The guidelines mention that they should retain the look of their current functionality, although that doesn't mean that once released these models will only be used as vanilla weapons with customized appearances. Perhaps upon release they could actually have new uses and strengths. With submissions needing to include weapons of each type, Primary, Secondary, and Melee, it's probable that a pack will be picked for each class and due to the same author needing to make 3 weapons there will be some consistancy among the released items.

Exciting stuff as Valve continues to expand what TF2 has to offer by engaging the community! Good luck to all the Model makers who will be submitting weapons!

Leave your thoughts in the comments, I know this excites me... Maybe I can convince Valve to implement that Uniform system sometime :D

TGBF.tv cast 5/20 - coL vs Blight.fanom

Coming up on Thursday night @ 10:30 EST/7:30 Pacific, TGBF.tv will be casting Complexity versus Blight.Fanom (The ex-Pandemic squad) with eXtine and m0lk on the mic.

The two top teams of ESEA-I will be facing off on another new addition to the map rotation, CP_Mainline_RC5, which has been a contentious addition thus far. The map has potential, and some interesting aspects, but attacking Last is a dangerous proposition. This match-up between 7-0 Complexity and the 7-1 Blight.Fanom (Only loss against coL on Gpit) will be indicative of how these teams compare to each other. If Complexity has shown any weakness the last couple of seasons, it's been on unfamiliar maps. Then again, Complexities propensity for off-classing and utilizing odd strategies might seriously pay off on this new map.

However the results end up, spectators will be guaranteed a captivating match on unknown territory. Tune in and check it out!

European 6v9 #3 - Lazy Sunday!

You guessed it, we’re back and more pumped than EVER!

What’s that? You haven’t a clue what’s going on? Well first of all, allow me to introduce myself. I’m Shintaz and I’m bad at TF2. However, that doesn’t stop me from organising one of the LARGEST TF2 events EVER! That’s right; the European edition of SPUF 6v9 has come around once again!

If you don’t know the rules or haven’t heard of it before, quite frankly you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months! If you have found yourself living under a rock and want to know what’s going down, let me explain:

• It’s a clash of the titans event, as six of the very best European players (hand picked from the top10 teams) face off against nine regular every day public players (hand picked from the steam forums).
• The six Europeans will be playing as they usually would competitively – class limit 2, demo limit 1, medic limit 1 (that’s 2 scouts, 2 soldiers, 1 medic and 1 demo to me and you).
• The nine public players will be playing the game in highlander mode – class limit 1 (that’s one of each class to me and you).
• The official rules used will be the same used in the European Team Fortress 2 league – this covers basic areas of competitive play, such as no-crits, a time limit and a win limit.

Sound awesome? Want to get involved? Sadly, you can’t. The public roster is full and has been for a while and everybody is rearing to go! Both full rosters are:

The Pub Team:
Scout: Bennyg
Soldier: sturdypete
Pyro: MrAmPm
Demoman: HeroNL
Heavy: deviland
Engineer: NearNihil
Medic: NdangeredSpycrab
Sniper: metaljarate
Spy: evilduck

The Pros:
Scouts: TCM|zerox // dignitas/bybben
Soldiers: cube.idk? // WeMadeFux Evil
Demoman: TLR|Thy
Medic: TCM|Byte (yes, he plays medic now!)

With each roster being completely full and everything from STV to a mumble cast sorted, everybody is ready to go! I decided to talk to a few people from each team, to see what they thought participating in such an event:

TGBF.tv Tonight 5/13 - EG vs coL!

Late night game tonight, Kicking off @ 12:30 AM EST, which I guess is tomorrow, but not if you live on the West Coast! Suckers!

This is gonna be a huge match up. 6-0 Complexity will be facing off against the 2-4 Evil Geniuses, who have just started to climb back up the standings with 2 wins over AG and Area 51. Reptile has switched back to Soldier, with Phelon claiming it to be a matter of improving their communication... Scruff stepped into the scout spot in their last two matches.

With this match-up against Complexity on CP_granary, EG has a chance to show the world that they still are a top contender! They need to turn their season around soon, and while Complexity is going to be extremely tough opposition, EG will be trying their best to get a win here. Prior to this match, EG is also scheduled to play a game against Nexus Gaming @ 10:30AM EST, which should be indicative of their site of mind prior to the match vs. Complexity.

Commentary will be handled by eXtine and m0lk the tiger... Rawr!
