If they are still going to keep the "unfinished" maps in, which I think if a map isn't finished it should be in pre-season.
Frankly it seems like a lot of players simply look at screenshots or run around a map by themselves and make their decisions.
What I would love to see for the map authors specifically and for everyone, is teams scrimming seriously on the map a couple of times, posting STV demos along with feedback so we all can look and see. The reason isn't we don;'t trust your opinion, but to often we see mappers and leagues only get a "This map sucks" or "Fuck this map" feedback and nothing constructive.
Hm, I probably would've mixed around those first 5 weeks so the big 3 aren't in a row, but I guess it's not a major issue.
Plus like you said, having well-known maps at the end is ideally what you're going to want. Moving Badlands would help that out.

ctf_turbine is now preseason so it can still be played by the willing teams. cp_mainline is now the last map so that swaty has time to finalize any changes that he wants to make. cp_yukon is supposedly going to be adjusted so it is second to last. cp_obscure is third to last so that any qualms can be brought to byte before it comes up in the rotation.
Normally we put the big 3 at the end of the season so that the late and important matches are played on well-known maps. You may ask why are the late season matches important? It's because the CEVO scheduling system uses CPI to match opponents. By the conclusion of the season, the top CPI teams must play each other if they have not already (and one must lose ofc). So typically you get the undefeated teams playing each other at the end of the season. For this reason, I think having the big 3 at the end is usually a good philosophy. But considering the unique situation with this season's custom maps, I agree that this format can be changed.
I like to think of myself as a reasonable guy who knows what's going on in the community. As such, it would be wise if future protests were carried out in a more reasonable manner. Insulting me and my decisions is not the best method of motivating change. The reason I made the above adjustment is because a number of people politely approached me and discussed the situation in a reasonable manner. Talking shit and arguing with me without being willing to cede points is a waste of my time and if anything hurts your cause. With that said, thanks for the feedback from those of you who did it in a mature manner.
But from what im reading basically everywhere the cevo rotation has been posted, the community does not support the obscure/mainline decision by a large margin and the ctf turbine inclusion is just rofl.
As Kermit said on gf, and I agree completely, why are the big three crammed at the end? So that there might be some upsets and excitement at the start but in the end all hopeful teams get trounced on the good maps and an easy news feed gets filled with updates? Or is it so that we have minimal time to come up with strats and a final map for the obscure/mainline (should be mainline imo) spot?
Spread the big three out a bit more is just another issue i feel inclined to bring up.
Despite having been edited, most players still don't like cp_obscure, however, why do you think that mainline being edited before the season is a bad thing, and that it will be completely different from what players expect? unless the map version gets released an hour before a team's match starts, and it turns out to be something like cp_orangeX, I don't think anyone is going to have a problem with playing it.
From most the people i know, Obscure hasn't been very popular. It sounds like you've made this decision based on your own opinion(or the way you put it, "bias"), and have disregarded much of what the intentions were for involving the community in the decision process.
