Yes, the Shogun Pack is here!
I'll spare you the details on obtaining them (hint: it's not fair at all) and skip straight to the nitty-gritty.
The Fan O'War is a melee weapon for the Scout that deals only 4 damage on a hit. However, one target at a time is "marked for death", causing them to take mini-crits for the next 10 seconds.
It's a melee-induced Jarate, essentially, and, like Jarate, it's based on quick teamwork. If you can get close enough to melee someone and Scattergun them, it could help... but in a competitive context, you are probably better off Scattergunning them in the first place (and saving your Bat or Fish for the damage in a tight spot).
The Concheror is another backpack for our friend Soldier. This one charges through a combination of either dealing or receiving damage. When it's activated, it gives every enemy in range 20% of all the damage they deal as health.
Like the other backpacks, it's hard to get one up and running in a game and not miss your Shotgun. The benefit is tailored toward large groups, thought it isn't the best.
The Half-Zatoichi is a melee weapon for the Soldier and Demoman (why it's these two that share melees, I'll never know). If you select it, you can't get another weapon out until you make a kill with it. However, you get all your health back on a kill. You also get instant kills on other Half-Zatoichi users.
A gimmick. However, it's somewhat properly implemented and can be useful if you know your target has low health (and you haven't gotten yourself used to Equalizing everywhere - this was hard for me). Probably not an instant-switch, particularly for a Soldier, but it's not a terrible weapon.
The Conniver's Kunai is a knife for the Spy. It lowers the Spy's health to 60, but you absorb health from your backstab victims (up to an overheal of 180). A successful backstab also removes all status effects.
I can't see this replacing either knife. You don't have 125 health anymore, and you can't silently backstab anyone. A good Dead Ringer might offset the first weakness, but the health jumps are a bit erratic, particularly when you're fooling around with Sentries and Heavies who would kill you quickly even with 300 health.
There's also some hats and a new noise maker. Relevant, right?
Got something to say? Think I'm a quack? Comments, if you please!
