Tt eSPORTS announces their first official sponsorship in Brazil with the Ovo Frito team - this is big news for the South American TF2 scene!
São Paulo – After being part of the competitive Team Fortress 2 community for two years, Thermaltake through Tt eSports has decided to sponsor their first e-Sports team in Brazil. The team, Ovo Frito, has two different divisions with the main team composed of top players and the secondary team focused on training and preparing new players.
Camila Chimello, Product Marketing for Thermaltake, said: "We are very interested in bringing to Brazil the electronic sports scene we see in other countries, such as the division Tt eSports in Taiwan where the matches are displayed on TV channels." She added: "It is important give support to teams [in Brazil], and also to support initiatives that aim to make e-sports more legitimate in the country. The Ovo Frito team sponsorship is just one of several actions we will take in this regard in the coming months.”
Matheus "Ck." Santos, a player on the Ovo Frito team, also believes that the initiative will bring future opportunities to other teams: "I'm sure that with a big name like Tt eSports, other companies will start looking for competitive clans as they did some years ago. No doubt this will end up bringing in other companies, tournaments and events, and it is something very positive to e-sports scene in Brazil, even for players that do not play TF."
There will be a total of 12 players getting equipment from the Tt eSports gamer line so that they can train better and assist Thermaltake in the development of new products. Thermaltake believes that this sponsorship will attract more attention to electronic sports scene and, as a result, more teams will look for sponsorships in order to to evolve as professionals.
The official announcement was formalized during Anime Friends 2011, where competitions were held between members of the Ovo Frito team and visitors. The top visitors team received awards and all those who participated were given gifts (T-shirts, caps, pens, and so on).

Ladies and gents, welcome to the Summer 2011 UGC Highlander League Season 4 coverage for weeks 1 and 2. We're getting a bit of a late start due to sorting out all kinds of new awesomeness here on CommFT, but the time of great fear is over. Take thy towel from thy head, extract thyself from under the bed. Get the dust bunnies off your head! Four sentences in and we're rhyming.
My God, get the rubbing alcohol. Get the rivet gun and the piles of oily rags. Prepare for blunt trauma.
I am finishing up the recording stage of the CommFT frag video this weekend so I can spend the next week making it all nice and shiny, but guys, I NEED YOUR DEMOS TO MAKE IT AWESOME! Honestly, I have some great kills and streaks from some great teams, but I need more. Give me anything you have, STV, POV... I don't care! Send me your demo, with ticks and maybe even an awesome song suggestion :D
Everyone who submits something gets a shoutout in the credits, whether I use the clip or not.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I am begging you guys, send me some good stuff so I can make one hell of a highlight reel :3

Valve's dropped another update on us that explains those mysterious rockets that have cropped up recently. This time, partnered with WETA, Dr. Grordbort's update brings new weapons and items to the game, including one that looks all-too much like a railgun. And a comic to go with it. And a movie recommendation. But two out of three isn't bad.
Rockets? Grordborts? Science? And here I'd just talked about the diabolical will of machines in the most recent Screaming Eagles. They're on to something, I tell you. Something big. Something evil.
We'll have a thorough analysis of the new gear up very soon, but in the meantime, tell us about your tinkering. Do you like the new gear? Is it OP? Does it call to you in the night and whisper sweet nothings? No, ray gun, I won't zap the neighbors!
That's right folks, we have ourselves a champion in Kawaii Explosion! They just won the North American division of CommFT's first-ever Highlander tournament. Kawaii defeated Free Beavis in the finals match by winning two maps in a row. Their roster was as follows:

Ladies and gents, detonaters and Baba-bootiers, welcome back to Screaming Eagles.
26 columns! Quartered segments are normally celebrated. Unless its a wedding anniversary, in which case a yearly melee with broken champagne bottles and chair legs signifies love. It's the polite way of saying I was drunk and we were in Vegas. Elvis married us and I want to hit you with Bollingers Blanc de Noirs. I want to bludgeon you until the soft bits come out of your head and even then I will not stop. No, my love, then I will begin the dance to mash the pulp. We make music. Tap, tap, squish.
Oh, TF2! How I love you! And what a journey! So, let's take a little journey down anniversary lane to celebrate this very special edition of Screaming Eagles. Do you have a sick bag? Do you have protective oils and spells? Bring them all. You'll need them.
Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 ESEA Open Bonanza Week!
All these Open casts...I guess people want to know how far they need to go to play competitively. Or just enjoy pretending that they know more than the ones playing. That would be me.
This is the second match for Unibroue on Snakewater, this time against The Seal Team Six. Note: Unibroue was still called Xylofun at this point.
So I'm planning an article centering around the subject of power creep in Team Fortress 2 and how it's affected the game as a whole. Right now the ideas are ironed out, but I need a sampling of player opinion to make statements count.
If you're interested in answering a few questions and providing some opinions on TF2, shoot me an email (

Tonight @ 10:30 pm est we will be casting our ESEA Open Game of the Week, Man Mode Enabled vs CrysisTF2. Crysis featuring one of our very own casters Cash50! We hope to have a good turn out with a person running the stream! :D See you guys tonight!
Hey, everyone, I'm going to be following the ESEA Open team Unibroue throughout the season. I plan to explain their strengths and weaknesses (mostly weaknesses), and follow how they progress over the season. I'm going to do an audio cast of each of their games on www.justin.tv/gaamoo in addition to uploading the source tv demos onto www.tf2demos.com; the first few will be recorded later, but I should be doing them live once I catch up to their current match schedule.
Their first match of the season was against Hanging with the Gnomies on cp_snakewater_rc3. Note: Unibroue was still called Xylofun at this point.
