I know TWL is usually my bag of tea, but if you gotta know one thing about me, it is that I am a big tournament head. I love playoff time for any type of sports, and I think March Madness is serious business. So why not do a write up about the biggest tournament since the last CEVO tournament. The CEVO S4 double elimination tournament.

Ok, I’ll break down each of the regions and then I’ll give you my picks to win. Basically, I am looking at this bracket in 4 different regions. The Carnage (BOSS) region, Rage n Terror region, eXpertise region, Treason region. I picked those 4 teams NOT because they are all favorites to win that region, but because they are the highest seeds in that region.

The BOSS region

Intro: This is the region none of the teams wanted to land in. This means you get to face BOSS very early in this tourney and get a chance to tack on that 1^st loss. The rest of the bracket looks very unimpressive. The second highest seed, Owned in Seconds just does not look like a threat for BOSS, already losing to them 25-5 and also carrying a 0-5 loss to expertise on their record.

Darkhorse: Crack Clan decided to blame their last loss against Owned in Seconds on Vengeance and his horrible ping problems. And their other loss was against a Carnaged-up BOSS team. If Vengeance gets his ping problems checked out, look for CC to get into the 3^rd round to face BOSS again.

Intriguing 1^st round match: Antares vs Owned in Seconds is going to be closer than the seeding tells you. Antares’ only loss came from playing 5v6 against the BONGOs, while Owned in Seconds just have not proven that they can defeat top tier teams. I’m calling an upset here, Antares takes it and moves to the second round.

Predicted winner: Who else? BOSS. They’re like the North Carolina Tarheels of this tournament…if the Tarheels decided to put Lebron James and Dwight Howard on the roster for the tourney.

 

Rage n Terror region

Intro: Arguably the strongest region out of all 4. I see 2 teams with the ability to win this region. But I also see TONS of upsets capable of happening. Rage and Terror is the obvious favorites to take the crown from this region. Their only loss coming from dejavu, a CEVO-M team that is now broken up. Harmonic is not that far behind RnT, also with only one loss this season. But you can’t over look teams like the BONGOs, #Team, #Pound and StyleFlair. All four of those teams have the teamwork and skills to win out and upset RnT or Harmonic….not likely, but just trying to stir the pot. The only problem I see with Rage N Terror is that I noticed a lot of forfeits from them lately in ESEA, I wonder if it is because they're slowly going inactive, or just lost interest in ESEA.

Darkhorse: djfivenine: is Jaeger, DL and lopert going to play for you guys (StyleFlairExtraordinaire) all through CEVO?

Intriguing 1^st round match: #team vs StyleFlair. #team took out StyleFlair 5-2 in the 2^nd week of the season. But #team is riding a 2 game losing streak while StyleFlair comes into the playoffs winning 4 out of their last 5. And you know Acula and the LUE dudes are ready for revenge…and I am interested in seeing if the SFE ringers will show up for the match.

Predicted Winner: If StyleFlair has anywhere near a mid or mid/high medic, then I see them taking this region easily with Jaeger, Lopert, and DL at snipe/scoot. If the rest of StyleFlair are low/mid, then I am going to pick Harmonic.

 

eXpertise region

Intro: Expertise is undoubtedly the strongest team in this division. But there are some really good mid/high teams as well as up and coming mid teams in this bunch. I look forward to a very close match with exultance and Technical Difficulties in the second round. I also expect Helix to give expertise some trouble in the 2nd round as well. But aside from those 4 teams, I would like to spotlight Epidemic for a second. These guys started as a joke, but have improved dramatically and developed themselves as one of the more consistent mid teams out there.

Darkhorse: I am very interested in talking with someone from Technical Difficulties. It looks like they have taken down playoff caliber teams like Harmonic, #team and Just4Fame, but they have also lost to nQa and Bukkake Baptism. Would be interesting to find out what happened during the nQa match. Because if that was just a fluke match, then these guys might be the team to watch out for in this region.

Intriguing 1st round match: Helix vs epidemic will be a good matchup. Both teams have great scouts that have the ability to take over the game. However, Helix's sollies might be the deciding factor for this match. Either way, it'll be a close one to watch.

Predicted Winner: eXpertise. Who have stayed consistently competitive even through all the roster changes during the offseason. Props to DK and the eX management for making that happen.

Treason Region

Intro: BOSS, Rage, eXpertise...and Treason?? Really? Treason? Well, even though they might not have a reputation for being a top team. One thing Treason has proven is that they are the best team out of the Central division (other than Rage&Terror). I give Treason props for their hard work this season in CEVO, but they are no where as dominant as the other 3 top teams in their region, and this region is easily the least talented out of all 4 regions. Except for Tactics and SHOCK, all 6 other teams have a chance of winning in the region.

Darkhorse: I guess Chuckles...who have been a good mid team this season, and only getting better with experience. But like I said...there are 6 teams that can take this region.

Intriguing 1st round match: tribune vs Shears. Shears had to forfeit their week 8 match vs tribune for some reason. But if they are still a team, this will be a damn close and good match to watch.

Predicted Winner: Bukkake Baptism. I see them coming out of the dust and taking the region. It will be a fun match to watch with them vs Treason in the 3rd round.
