TF2 Update Release 4/28

UPDATE: If you are crashing right when the splash page loads, it appears that P-Rec is causing the problem. Deleting the P-Rec files in tf/addons fixes the problem. I'm sure this will be solved soon on P-Rec or Valve's side, Robin knows about it now.

UPDATE ON THE UPDATE UPDATE: Some things were left off of the initial update news, including a new version of cp_freight, and a new item: Crit-a-cola "While under the effects, damage done and damage taken will be mini-crits." Lvl 5 Lunchbox item, dunno for which class.

Looks like the dispenser exploit used recently in Cevo, aka the "Sticky Buff", has been fixed. More impactful are major changes to the Pyro and Heavy Weapons Dood. Link. Read More for highlights.


"Gameplay Changes

Pyro changes

Flamethrower direct damage reduced 20%.

Burn duration reduced (10 -> 6 seconds).

Airblast re-fire delay reduced by 25%.

Airblast ammo usage reduced by 20%.

All reflected rockets/grenades/arrows now mini-crit.

Airblasting enemies into environmental deaths now awards the death credit to the Pyro.

Heavy changes

Minigun spin-up/down time reduced by 25%

Minigun firing movement speed increased to just under half-normal (from 80 to 110).

Throwing a sandvich to a teammate now earns a full bonus point (was half a point).

Bonk! changes

Post-use movement penalty removed.

Now has a re-use cooldown time, like The Sandman.

Chargin' Targe changes

Direct charge hit now does 50 damage + 10 per head (up to 5 heads).

Capped the turn rate from +left and +right while charging."

#5 chipbuster 2010-04-29 17:03 updated again. A bunch of fixes and small tweaks, they also added new items.

Other notes:

"Fixed the Flare Gun's afterburn duration being lowered by the Flamethrower's duration reduction."
It looks like only flamethrower afterburn was supposed to be reduced.

Also added a 20% damage bonus to backburner, and finally, FINALLY fixed that targetID crash in custom HUDs
