Ladies and gents, here at Community Fortress, we strive to bring you the best coverage and insight into the game, period.  But we can't do it all by ourselves!  No, we need the support of the community--and that means you!  Yes, you!  And you!  And you in the back, the one cutting yourself!

Staff Writer: Head of CEVO, ESEA, ETF2L, UGC 6s and UGC Highlander (1 position per league)

Description: communicate with heads of game for TF2 at CEVO, ESEA, ETF2L, and UGC, and covers all CEVO TF2 matches, events, and news

Job duties: organize and delegate duties to assistant staff writers, hold and lead meetings with other league writers and CommFT editors.  Post match predictions, match results, and casting links for all TF2 matches, events, and news for your respective league.  If something goes down, we want it on the front page, and we want discussion links in the relevant league's forums.  Run exclusives whenever possible.  Helps to know the folks at the respective league, though Graham and I can help introduce you if necessary.  Good standing in the gaming community is a must.  Ability to write well is a must, as is a firm control of spelling and grammar.

Time per week: 5-10 hours

Expected output: 2-5 articles a week of varying length plus correspondence and meetings


Assistant Staff Writers: CEVO, ESEA, ETF2L, UGC 6s and UGC Highlander (2-3 positions per league)

Description: post and cover matches delegated to you by the Head of league coverage.

Job duties: posting match predictions, match results, and casting links for all CEVO TF2 matches, events, and news that aren't being covered by the Head of CEVO writer.  In other words, if he or she tells you to cover or write something, do it! Helps to know the folks at the respective league, though Graham and I can help introduce you if necessary.  Good standing in the gaming community is a must.  Ability to write well is a must, as is a firm control of spelling and grammar.

Time per week: 5-10 hours

Expected output: 5-8 articles a week of varying length plus correspondence and meetings


Staff Writer: Scene Blogger (2 positions)

Description: post and cover on rumors, recent happenings, and upcoming events that are going on in the community but not directly related to the established leagues.

Job duties: cover and discuss in topical manner the buckets of stuff going on in the greater TF2 community.  This can be a simple Top 10 list or A new server mod, Pubcomp's progress, Pubs vs Pros, Pub stuff, player drama, or whatever else of interest is happening.  Good standing in the gaming community is a must.  Ability to write well is a must, as is a firm control of spelling and grammar.

Time per week: 2-5 hours

Expected output: 2-5 articles a week of varying length

 

Mentors: New and Free-to-Play (5-10 positions)

Description: introduce new and free to play players to the basics of TF2, including the broadest and lowest basics of competitive play.  While you're drilling people to get into competitive TF2, you are dealing with people who are interested in competitive 6s and/or Highlander.

Job duties: (under revision) currently, you'll work under an assigned staff mentor.  Duties include holding large-scale classes and workshops on various aspects of competitive TF2 ranging from the bare-bones basics (mice, keyboards, interp), to class-based training (6s or Highlander).  At present, Slin is the head of the mentor program, and everything that happens will be under his jurisdiction.  You should be patient, possess a friendly personality, and be willing to help new and free-to-play players with any and all questions.  Competitive experience (at least 1 season in a legitimate league--Highlander or 6s) is a bare minimum requirement, but more experience is preferred.

Time per week: 1-5 hours per mentor

Expected output: 1-2 training classes or workshops per week--more if Slin requests it
