As the first week of ESEA playoffs closes, we find ourselves nodding in solemn acceptance and with our jaws on the floor, depending on which division we were watching and with very few responses in-between.  While the first two maps in Intermediate mimicked what we saw end-of-season, Open’s underdogs came out swinging and threw expectations out the window.

This time, I got ahold of Scorpio Uprising, one of the best mapmakers in NA. He has achieved much fame this season, with the inclusion of cp_standin in the season, and then the playoffs. So without more fanfare, hit the jump for the interview.

Hey everybody, these are some predictions of the Foundry pre-season week. There are going to be some good matches this week, even though many will be one sided due to it being the first game of the season. Even still, there are going to be some exciting games. Enjoy.

Every team in ESEA worked their +attack and push-to-talk fingers to the bone this season to secure their spots in the playoffs but as we all know, it comes down to the top four teams in Invite, the top eight teams in Intermediate, and the top sixteen teams in Open.  While most of us sit back and study them for their tactics, weaknesses, and pure entertainment value, these twenty-eight teams continue their struggle for dominance over the ESEA domain.

We’re heading into our first round of playoffs, and in between practices I managed to snag cranberry, the leader of ESEA Open division’s top-spot holder Immortal 6, for a Q & A session.  He was in the middle of spending time with his girlfriend, but kindly took a few minutes out for me.  He assured me they were just goofing off in an RPG anyway, but I think he was a bit eager to get back to it by the end.  He did give me some great insights while we talked about their ambitions, attitudes, and this season’s ups and downs.

Seabass: The only mistake that sticks out to me today is how we failed to coordinate an effective offense on gravelpit B.
